| Summary |
Part L of the Building Regulations can make a significant contribution to reduction in energy use on buildings if applied effectively. This seminar will look at the 2002 revisons of Part L and the upcoming revsions for 2005/6 and how they have addressed sustainable construction issues. There will be presentations from several disciplines including architecture, engineering and Building Control giving a range of perspectives on the main issues and their experience complying withthe revisions. There will also be a Quantity Surveyor making a presentation on the cost of compliance with the Regulations. There will be a discussion on how to future proof your buildings to address the impending changes to climate and how the Regulations will assist this process. As part of the day, there will be a practical demonstration of an airtightness test on site together with an explanation of the results of the test and what remedial work might be necessary. |
