The Energy Saving Trust (EST) is currently running a series of free one-day ?Planning Sustainable Energy in Housing? seminars, jointly with the Building Research Establishment (BRE). They are aimed at Local Authority Planning Officers, Housing Officers, Council Members, and other professionals involved in planning issues at a local level.
The seminars will:
show where policy on sustainable energy fits within the wider context of the planning process, including any regional variations;
provide you with up-to-date policy guidance on energy efficiency, and housing and planning at local, regional and national levels;
provide you with practical case studies, delivered by practicing professionals, on how Local Authorities have ensured that energy efficiency issues have been incorporated into their planning guidance;
stimulate debate/discussion amongst attendees on what barriers exist to integrating energy efficiency issues into the planning process and delivering on local planning policy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to question experts, hear from local practitioners, attend workshops and discuss areas of mutual interest with fellow professionals. They will also receive a complementary information pack containing a range of relevant literature.
